Devon Baroque promotes understanding of and engagement & active involvement in the world of Baroque music through its education programme. The orchestra includes players who are experienced music teachers who can offer a wide range of creative opportunities to people of all ages and abilities.
Since its formation in 1999, Devon Baroque has given a number of valuable workshops on Baroque playing style. These workshops have been attended by professional and amateur players from throughout the South West. During the ‘Vivaldi Experience’ weekend at Dartington Hall in 2006, an orchestra of about 50, adults and children, was assembled to get insight into playing Vivaldi’s music and a similar workshop studied Handel’s music during the ‘Handel Experience’ weekend in November 2009.
